I gave just under $100 for the pair of them. (Doesn’t that Pixel 2 take nice pictures?)

Very nice! I keep thinking about that 3/8 drive one ever since you posted about them before.

Feels good in the hand.

That seems an awful lot for two ratchets.

Snap-on. $100+ apiece new.

Sometimes you just need a 1/2 inch ratchet to do 3/8ths things.

The most I’ve ever paid for a ratchet is $280, that’s not even an insane amount

I don’t like the smaller drive ratchets to have a lot of mass. Leverage, at times, yes, but not a lot of mass.

Ohhhhhh!!! Very nice!!

Yes. They feel good in the hand, too. I’m going to take them in for Show and Tell. Seriously.
I have some Craftsman “slim profile” ratchets, but they’re quite heavy and I just don’t like all of that mass in smaller than a 1/2" ratchet. So I’m getting rid of them.
This is my preferred 3/8 ratchet these days if I don’t want the mini:
Feels good in the hand as well.

Unrelated: are there any cars that are especially good at holding up under snow and salt conditions? I worked on a Nissan Versa yesterday that may have spent a winter or two in Utah, and you could tell. Ten winters and the thing would probably be entirely dissolved.

Some are better than others, but ten winter s is hard on anything. How you take care of something is a huge factor though.
Nissan s are particularly bad from the last 15 years, as are Sprinter vans and Dodge trucks, but salt kills everything over time. This winter was especially unkind to my now 13 year old truck. At the beginning of winter, the rust was really just starting to show under the paint on my rocker panels. This is what my left side rocker looks like now.
I also found this nasty surprise when changing a brake light bulb.
At 140k miles, it won't be miles that kill my truck someday. It will be rust. It's figuratively killing me. The weird thing is parts of the truck are spotless. The floors look like you could eat off of them.

I might try some sandblasting and etching primer/spot painting.
